 • A few interesting news items to think about this week ...

Restaurants are informing servers that they no longer get to "cash- out " their credit card tips at the end of shift. The restaurant owner/ manager tallies the credit receipts & the tips get taxed & applied to the servers' payroll check every week/2 weeks. A lot of restaurants have started this practice. So, if at all possible, start tipping your server in CASH. With so many people paying by credit card, many servers are going home empty-handed at the end of their shift. Just something to think about in this already horrible economy.

My comment was simple:  look up images of rock layers in Mt. Saint Helen Canyon. This canyon was formed in 1980. 44 years ago. Use science as a process by collecting the evidence, and using your brain to ask the related question: is the rock layering in the canyon 33 million years old, or 44 years old?  
And then, the place is a tourist attraction.   Follow the money.

Eyewitness accounts describe large, saucer-shaped objects hovering silently above the town, emitting a soft, otherworldly glow. Some have even claimed to have seen beings with elongated limbs and large, almond-shaped eyes peering out from the mysterious crafts.

Local authorities are baffled by the sudden influx of reports, with no logical explanation for the strange occurrences. Scientists and experts have been called in to investigate the sightings, but so far, no concrete evidence has been found to support the claims of extraterrestrial activity.

Speculation runs rampant among the residents of Southington, with theories ranging from government experiments to interstellar visitors. The town has become a hotspot for UFO enthusiasts and conspiracy theorists, drawn to the enigmatic events unfolding in the skies above.

Despite the skepticism of some, many residents remain convinced that something otherworldly is happening in their midst. The eerie silence of the UFOs, their unearthly movements, and the sense of unease they inspire have created a sense of tension and mystery in Southington.
