Welcome friends to Miller's Mysteries Blog, where the coffee is hot and the weather is almost too nice to stay inside. Southington has become a playground for walkers, diners, and explorers. A red-tailed hawk circled overhead while the goats looked upward in complete amazement. 



The cats followed every movement with championship-level concentration. Calendar House Shows promise another afternoon of smiles and music. Afterwards, dinner at a favorite restaurant sounds like an excellent reward.

Overall, Sunday looks like the better outdoor day.

Astronomy News 🔭:  3I/ATLAS, the interstellar comet discovered in 2025, remains an especially fascinating visitor. NASA confirms it originated outside our Solar System, making it only the third known interstellar object observed passing through our planetary neighborhood.
And for tonight's backyard astronomy: September is a great month for exploring the Milky Way, especially with binoculars or a small telescope.

  • The Reader
  Chantal arranged her sketchbook, pencil, and eraser on a small table in her art studio just before dusk. A creamy latte steamed beside a plate of shortbread cookies. She opened MindMyst Tales Blog and lingered over the astronomy section. Every constellation inspired another pencil sketch in her notebook. Soft instrumental music drifted through the studio while the daylight slowly faded. She finished her latte and added colorful notes beside each drawing. Inspiration seemed to arrive naturally with every article she read.

Chris drives from Bristol to a nearby Labor Day event and back. The total round trip is 46 miles. His car averages 29 miles per gallon. Approximately how many gallons of gasoline will he use?

5. Fireworks Viewing
Trish finds a good spot for watching the Labor Day fireworks. Her viewing area is a rectangle measuring 24 feet by 18 feet. What is the area of the rectangle?

6. Ice Cream Stand
Chris buys ice cream cones for a group of friends. Each cone costs $4.50. He has a coupon that takes $6 off his total purchase. If he buys 7 cones, how much does he pay after using the coupon?

7. Weekend Temperature
On Saturday morning, the temperature in Bristol is 62°F. By afternoon, it has risen to 81°F. If the temperature increases at a constant rate over 6 hours, what is the average temperature increase per hour?

  Welcome to Miller’s Mysteries , where the sunshine is so golden it could practically be bottled and sold as Connecticut’s finest vintage.  The neighbor’s goats are nosy as ever, peeking in like unpaid interns, while our cats stare back with the judgment of aristocrats.   Nyx A hawk might swoop past, squirrels chase each other in high-speed pursuits, and somewhere down the road, someone’s grilling like it’s a national holiday. I’m looking forward to catching a show at Calendar House, an AMC movie with extra butter on the popcorn, and a game of mini-golf that will almost certainly end with me fishing my ball out of the water hazard.  Southington’s patios are calling too, because what’s better than eating outdoors with the faint chance of a goat cameo?   • Across my Desk!!
