The Miller Report 10012026
Miller's Mysteries Blog
• Greetings and welcome to Miller's Mysteries Blog, where autumn has officially arrived, and the coffee is still hotter than the weather. Southington is settling into seasonal temperatures, colorful leaves, and the annual mystery of where summer disappeared to. We are looking forward to getting out and about again for Calendar House shows, AMC movies, restaurant adventures, shopping, and decorating.
The neighborhood wildlife has also returned for its regularly scheduled inspection of the backyard. The neighbor's goats are looking in, while the cats are looking out, and nobody seems to know who is supervising whom. Grab your coffee and come along, because autumn in Southington is just getting started.

CT UFO News 🛸
NUFORC lists two recent Connecticut reports: a Chevron reported over Monroe on September 15 and a Sphere reported over Oxford on September 8. Both are currently cataloged as UFO/UAP reports, meaning the objects were reported but not necessarily identified as anything extraordinary.
Connecticut MUFON's next chapter meeting is Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Cromwell, featuring Dr. Joel L. Parkyn speaking on UFO disclosure, exotheology, and human exceptionalism. The meeting also includes a review of Connecticut sighting status.
So, the Connecticut UFO story is getting more organized: actual sighting reports continue to appear, while the state is moving toward a formal mechanism for collecting and studying them. 🛸🔭

• The Reader
Bridget sat at her kitchen table early Saturday morning, getting comfortable with Mindmyst Tales Blog. A sheet of paper and a sharpened pencil rested beside her laptop. She had a mug of hot coffee in one hand and a plate of cinnamon toast within easy reach. The quiet morning made it easy to settle into the stories without distractions. She jotted down a few ideas that might make good future blog subjects. By the time her coffee was gone, Bridget was smiling at the screen like she had discovered a secret clubhouse. She decided Mindmyst Tales Blog was definitely a place she could get comfortable.

• Math of the Week 📐📏🔢
1. Pumpkin Harvest 🎃
Trish and Chris harvested 84 pumpkins on October 1st. Trish harvested 36 pumpkins, and they split the remaining pumpkins equally between two garden carts. How many pumpkins went into each cart?
2. Apple Cider 🍎
Chris bought 5 gallons of apple cider for an October gathering. Each gallon contains 128 fluid ounces. If the cider is poured into 16-ounce cups, how many full cups can Chris serve?
3. October Leaves 🍂
Trish raked 18 bags of leaves on October 1st. Chris raked 25% more bags than Trish. How many bags did Chris rake?
4. Halloween Decorations 🎃
Trish and Chris are decorating a porch with 48 feet of orange lights. They use 3/8 of the lights around the front door. How many feet of lights remain?
5. October Savings 💰
Chris decides to save $15 each week during October. If he saves money for all 4 full weeks of October, then spends $12 on a pumpkin, how much money does he have left?

• Now, This Week's Exciting Story
🛶 Noah's Ark News
Joe, there's a genuinely interesting development this week in the long-running search at the Durupınar formation in eastern Türkiye.
🔎 Core drilling has now been completed
A research team led by Sivas Cumhuriyet University has carried out the first significant core-drilling work at the ship-shaped formation. Researchers collected continuous soil cores while radar surveys identified several underground anomalies. Laboratory testing is now underway.
🧪 The organic-material finding
Researchers report that soil from within the formation contains about three times more organic matter than surrounding soil. They are testing the dark, organic-rich material to determine whether it represents decomposed wood or something produced naturally by the geology.
That's the part I'd watch closely. Organic material is interesting, but it isn't automatically wood, and wood wouldn't automatically prove the biblical Ark. The laboratory identification and dating are the important next steps.
📡 What did the radar find?
The research team reports radar anomalies that include straight lines, right-angle features, possible corridors, voids, and layered structures at various depths. The team is investigating whether these are human-made structures or geological features. Radar images by themselves cannot establish that distinction.
🧑🔬 When do we get the next big answer?
According to the latest report, the research team expects its final report around April or May 2027. Additional investigation is planned for future field seasons.
So for your Noah's Ark News file, I'd put today's headline as:
CORE SAMPLES COLLECTED AT DURUPINAR: NOW THE LABS HAVE TO TALK
That's where this gets really interesting, Joe. The next step isn't another photograph of a boat-shaped hill. It's laboratory analysis of material actually pulled out of the ground. 🛶🔬
So the headline for your blog could be:
🛶 Noah's Ark Investigation Moves Into the Ground
The mystery isn't solved, but 2026 has produced considerably more hands-on investigation at Durupınar than simply taking photographs of the formation. That's definitely worth keeping an eye on. 🔎🛶

======Comedy Club 🎤🪑🤪🎭
Welcome to the buffet, where human psychology immediately goes out the window and gets replaced by mathematics. The moment you walk through the door, your brain says, We paid for unlimited food, so apparently we need to eat all of it.
A buffet turns a perfectly reasonable adult into a food archaeologist. You walk past the first tray thinking, I will come back to that. Ten minutes later, you're standing there wondering where the mashed potatoes went.
The first trip through the buffet is always reconnaissance. You don't take food yet. You're studying the terrain. You're looking at the chicken, the pasta, the vegetables, the desserts, and wondering if that suspicious casserole has a name.
The second trip is where confidence takes over. You've developed a strategy. You have a plate in one hand and the determination of a military commander in the other.
Then you see the carving station. Suddenly, you're not hungry anymore. You're curious. You think, What exactly is happening over there, and why does that man have a sword?
Buffets create strange social behavior. At home, you would never stand six inches behind a stranger while they decide between macaroni and cheese and green beans. At a buffet, that's completely normal.
There's always one person who moves through the buffet like they're driving in rush-hour traffic. They stop suddenly, back up, change lanes, and somehow block the entire dessert section.
Then there's the person who examines every piece of fried chicken individually. They pick one up with the serving tongs, inspect it, put it back, and pick up another one. At that point, the chicken is getting a physical examination.
The buffet plate itself is an engineering challenge. You start with a little bit of everything. Five minutes later, your plate looks like somebody dropped Thanksgiving dinner from an airplane.
The mashed potatoes are structural support. The gravy is construction adhesive. The corn is decoration. Nobody knows where the green beans came from.
Then comes the moment of regret. You're halfway back to the table and suddenly realize you have built a plate that weighs approximately seventeen pounds.
You sit down and tell yourself you're going to eat slowly. That's adorable. You have unlimited food in front of you. Your brain has already declared this a competitive event.
The psychology gets even stranger when you realize the buffet has made you afraid of running out. You don't actually like that last piece of pizza, but it's the last piece of pizza. Suddenly it's precious.
There is also the opposite problem. You take three pieces of something because it looks delicious. Then you taste it. Your brain immediately says, We have made a terrible administrative decision.
Buffets teach us an important lesson about optimism. We see a tiny piece of cake and think, I can handle that. Then we see another dessert and think, That's basically fruit.
The dessert section is where all self-control goes to retire. Suddenly you're carrying brownies, cookies, pudding, pie, cake, and something covered in chocolate that nobody can identify.
There is always somebody who takes a tiny piece of every dessert. That person has constructed a dessert tasting menu. I respect the strategy, but I also know they're coming back.
Then you see the soft-serve machine. That's when the buffet stops being a restaurant and becomes an amusement park. You pull the lever and suddenly you're twelve years old again.
The soft-serve cone is another engineering challenge. You start with a beautiful swirl. Then it leans slightly to the left. You compensate. Now it leans right. Eventually you're eating ice cream off your wrist.
Buffet psychology also explains why people drink more soda than usual. It's free refills. Your brain says, We have unlimited soda too. Apparently we're preparing for winter.
Coffee is different. Coffee at a buffet is serious business. You finish your meal, sit back, take a sip, and suddenly you're ready to discuss the economic policies of three countries.
There's always one table where somebody has already gone back for another plate. You watch them walk past and think, That's either impressive or a medical emergency.
Meanwhile, the person sitting next to you says, I'm stuffed. Five minutes later, they ask, Do you think they have any more of that chicken?
The buffet also creates strange conversations. At a normal restaurant, you discuss what you're going to order. At a buffet, you discuss what you already ate. I had the chicken. Did you try the potatoes? The potatoes are good.
Nobody knows how much they ate at a buffet. That's because the number of trips becomes irrelevant. You could have eaten four plates or twelve small plates. At some point, you stop counting and start negotiating with your belt.
Then comes the walk toward the exit. This is the slowest human movement known to science. Everybody is full, sleepy, and moving at approximately three feet per minute.
You pass the dessert display one last time. You don't need anything. You're finished. You're satisfied. Then you see the cheesecake.
Your brain says, We could take one piece for later. Your stomach says, Don't you dare. Your brain says, It's only one piece. Your stomach says, I know where this ends.
Eventually you leave the buffet carrying your receipt and a profound sense of accomplishment. You didn't just eat dinner. You completed a project.
And the next morning, you wake up and remember something important. You have leftovers in the refrigerator. Except you don't. Because it was a buffet.
That's the real psychology of buffet restaurants. They convince us that unlimited food is freedom, when actually it's a test. We enter as ordinary people, we become food strategists, and we leave wondering why we ate three kinds of pudding.
But we always go back. Because somewhere inside every human being is a little voice that whispers, Next time, I'm definitely getting more crab legs.

===========SHADOW
A gigantic spacecraft settles above Castle Craig as thousands of people watch from below. Four enormous creatures emerge from the ship and walk slowly toward the monument. Their bodies are covered in armor that appears to have grown directly from their flesh. Each creature carries a long metallic staff that vibrates with an eerie blue light. They ignore the crowds and begin drilling into the mountain. Scientists realize the aliens already know exactly where they are digging. Beneath Castle Craig lies something they have been searching for. Suddenly, the mountain begins shaking violently. The creatures step back and kneel. Something ancient answers from beneath the earth.
